Our Story
Established in 2004, Lester & Brown was founded by longstanding business partners and master jewellers Ian Lester and David Brown. With over 40 years of experience each in designing and handcrafting bespoke jewellery, they built the business on a shared commitment to quality, creativity, and a deeply personal approach to working with clients.
From the very beginning, the focus has always been on creating meaningful pieces—whether it’s a one-of-a-kind engagement ring, a remodel of a family heirloom, or a unique commission designed from scratch. Every piece is crafted with care, right here in our Poynton, Cheshire workshop.
Over the years, we’ve embraced modern technologies and new design ideas, allowing us to move with the times while staying true to our values. Our blend of traditional craftsmanship and forward-thinking design ensures every piece we create is made to last—and made to be loved.
Lester & Brown is proud to remain an independent, family-run jewellers. The recent addition of Ian and David’s sons—Ben Lester and Ethan Brown—marks a new chapter in our story. With Ben and Ethan now fully involved in both the creative and customer sides of the business, we’re bringing a fresh energy to the workshop while preserving the experience, integrity, and service we’ve always been known for.

Ian Lester, director and co-founder of the business, originally trained in a Manchester jewellers. The jewellers workshop is his place of creativity where he takes great pride in what he does.
David Brown, director and co-founder of Lester and Brown, he has been a jeweller since leaving school ( a very long time ago). David has a keen eye for art and design, and has applied this passion into the many pieces of jewellery made over the years.
Ben Lester, media and sales. he has many years of experience in media and photography, he supplied the websites photos & video. Ben has a keen interest in the jewellery trade, training to repair and design.
Ethan Brown, Admin and sales at Lester and Brown. A new face to the industry, Ethan has a passion to learning all aspects of the jewellery trade with his key desires to create and design pieces of jewellery.
